13/22  Domestic Life Insurance Business: MSI Aioi Life

Now, I will talk about our domestic life insurance business, one of the Group's growth fields, on the next two pages. As reported in the newspapers, in the first half of FY2012 the Group's domestic life insurance business was ranked seventh among all life insurance companies in Japan in terms of revenue, primarily premiums. First, I will review the business of MSI Aioi Life. Please turn to page 12. The value of the MSI Aioi Life business exceeded ¥500 billion as of the end of March 2012. We expect MSI Aioi Life to continue to steadily expand its business from FY2013 onward. The amount of new business, which shows growth, has increased steadily. We expect it will continue to expand from the current fiscal year onward. This expansion is the result of our streamlining head office functions, strengthening the sales force, and having the two companies that were merged with the establishment of MSI Aioi Life in October 2011 share their strengths and expertise. This month MSI Aioi Life launched a special clause for life-long care security, its first new product since the merger, to solidify this expansion. MSI Aioi Life will continue to pursue post-merger synergies by transferring personnel from head office functions to the sales division and continuing to allocate resources to priority channels. MSI Aioi Life will also accelerate and streamline the solicitation process, promoting cashless and paperless processes.
